FAQ
FAQ
How can I order customized glass beads?
You can always send me a request for your desired bead. Best by e-mail or via the message functions on Instagram or Facebook.
If you have seen a glass bead with me that you like, then it is always helpful if you copy me the photo of it and send it directly to me, then I can check if I have these glasses in stock to create a similar bead for you.
How long does a commissioned work?
I usually need several weeks lead time. This is especially important to know if you want to give away a bead. To give you a more exact time window,
please write me a message.
Is commissioned work more expensive?
Yes, personalized commissioned work is somewhat more expensive. This is because they require more time and effort in communication and implementation.
The conversation and the coordination to understand yourwishes exactly, as well as the additional work involved, make up the surcharge.
Depending on the effort involved, I therefore charge a surcharge of 10-30%
Can you make memory beads from my deceased pet with ash or fur incorporated?
Yes, it is possible and a very special jewelry. I need very little ash. So that you have a better quantity idea, I always say about 1 teaspoon full. There is always ash left over from this, which I will of course send to you along with the finished piece of jewelry.
It is also possible to incorporate fur into an ash, the fur burns into the glass and is then enclosed with a clear glass coating. The finished glass bead then has a beautiful appearance of quite a few small air bubbles inside the glass. Fur or hair are of course no longer visible as such.
On Instagram I have a separate section with photos at my Story Highlights.
Do I have to pay for my order in advance?
Yes, I ship in principle only after receipt of payment. Commissioned works are also only after receipt of payment made. If you have ordered a glass bead which needs a lead time of several weeks, then you do not have to pay immediately.I send you then in time about 1-2 weeks before I have scheduled your order an invoice, which you then please pay in advance.
Can you create my pet as a bead?
I am asked this question very often and the answer cannot be given as a general rule. If you expect a glass likeness from your pet, then the answer is no.There are simply limits when working with glass and it is not possible to place every spot in exactly the right position or to find an identical glass for the coat color.
Have you ever made an elephant, alpaca, duck, etc. and can I see a photo of it?
I very often get the question whether I have ever made this or that animal.Since I always want to answer these questions as best as possible, I search every time anew my gallery / profile on Instagram, Facebook and on the HP for photos that I can then send you. This costs me of course every time a lot of time and it would therefore be much easier if you yourself could look through my gallery, if you don't find it there, then I probably haven't made this species yet.
Please write me a message, maybe I can realize your glass bead wish. :)
How long does a bead take to produce?
This is quite different and depends on the degree of difficulty of each bead depends.
Some glass beads require a longer preparation time in advance. Thoughts on the implementation of the finished piece of jewelry or even sketches of the desired result are part of the work process. A simple, round glass bead is basically much faster to make than a elaborately decorated or even figurative bead.
What remains the same for all beads is the slow cooling time of several hours in the tempering furnace.
How durable are glass beads. Do they break quickly?
You can't give a blanket answer to that. It depends on the correct production as well as on the form of the bead and finally also on the "blow", which the glass gets off.
All my beads have been cooled down for several hours in a special tempering furnace. This process is very important to avoid tensions inside the glass and to make them resistant.
How to Care for Your Glass Jewelry?
Gently clean your jewelry with a soft, damp cloth. For more stubborn dirt, you can use a mild soap solution. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents or abrasive cleaners, as these could damage the surface.
Store your glass jewelry separately from other items to prevent scratches. It's best kept in a soft pouch or a jewelry box.
Can I choose colors for my glass beads?
This is often possible, but not all glass colors can be so easily combined with each other.Glasses have different strengths during the melting process, and therefore some shapes are more difficult to produce with some glasses than with others. Also different colored glasses react with each other when combined, which I also have to
I have to take into account. None of this is visible to the layman and is in no way comparable to the interplay of a painter's colors.
